Automated Weather Data Network

Automated weather stations (STL100, STA Inc., Korea) were installed at 30 locations in 2014 and the local air temperature, wind, rainfall, and solar radiation have been measured at a 1 minute interval and transmitted to the laboratory every 10 minutes via a wireless CDMA modem.

WebGIS Service

You will be able to obtain Cheonghakdong climate information through an interactive GIS-based map.

KHU Agroclimatology Lab. (KAL) was established in 1990 to facilitate education and research in the agricultural climatology major, which was then the only government accredited graduate degree program for that inter-disciplinary field. KAL has been involved in many projects to develop core techniques for agroclimatic zoning and mapping to be used in site selection, crop forecasting as well as climate change impact studies. Most of the techniques are on-site validated for direct applications in decision support procedures by farmers and local governments. Important results from the research are continually added to the academic courses provided by KAL such as Applied spatial informatics, Microclimatology, and Agronomic modeling. Exchanges in data and manpower are also active between international as well as domestic institutions including the National Center for AgroMeteorology (NCAM) and the Urban Horticulture Lab., University of Washington. KAL is one of the NCAM designated national cooperative labs, and specialized in geospatial climatology.
